About El Cajon Driving School
El Cajon Driving School was established in 1982. It is located
in the state of California, County of San Diego. This school is
owned and operated by Milford Enterprises, Inc. Unlike most driving
schools that specialize in teenage driver’s education, El
Cajon Driving School offers a variety of driving courses.
Course 1
Course 1 offers teenage training (under 18). Our school offers
both classroom/internet driver’s education programs as well
as behind the wheel training. Our behind the wheel training is given
in dual-controlled training vehicles. We offer private instruction
and free home pick up. PRIVATE lessons cost more, but we feel it
is the only way to properly teach behind the wheel training. You
may find that some driving schools teach two or three students at
the same time, charging each of them the full amount of time even
though they only drove 45 minutes out of the two hour session. In
some cases they take students to their classroom and show them films
or have them participate in some kind of a computerized simulator
training. This type of training allows them to use less gasoline
and put fewer miles on their training vehicle. This allows them
to handle more students in a shorter period of time. PROFITABLE,
oh yes! BUT, in our opinion, driver’s training is one of the
most important courses anyone will ever take. It needs to be done
one on one with a great deal of in car instruction, not computer
games.
El Cajon Driving School offers both classroom and internet driver’s
education programs. However, we encourage our students to take the
CLASSROOM PROGRAM rather than the internet course simply because
we feel the student will receive a better and more complete education.
Our school offers an internet program because there are some people
who for a variety of personal reasons cannot attend regular classroom
sessions and have no choice but to use the internet program.
El Cajon Driving School also offers as part of our driver’s
training course a 60 minute CD, which explains what the driving
instructor covered in the first driving lesson. This CD provides
ideas and tips to the supervising party on what to look for during
driving practice along with some do’s and don’ts. This
is a useful tool for parents and guardians and allows us to work
together in providing uniform instruction.
Course 2
Course 2 offers a specialized program for adults who have never
had a driver’s license or have moved from another state or
country and need a brush-up course. El Cajon Driving School helps
them with both the written and driving test. These courses include
freeway, mountain driving, parking maneuvers, and all of the driving
techniques necessary to pass the driving test.
Course 3
Course 3 provides instruction for senior/mature drivers who have
had difficulty passing their written test at the DMV and/or have
been required because of vision impairments or other medical problems
to retake their driving test.
Course 4
El Cajon Driving School has both therapists and driving instructors
who work together to train disabled drivers. They may have suffered
from a stroke or heart attack. They may have had an amputation or
a serious accident that has affected their physical ability to drive
requiring them to use hand controls, special steering knobs, left-footed
gas pedals, etc.
Course 5
El Cajon Driving School provides a defensive driver’s education
program for commercial drivers, limo companies, delivery drivers,
public utility companies, just to name a few. This defensive driving
course satisfies insurance company liability requirements for companies
and corporations. It also provides the additional advantage of helping
to reduce vehicle down time, workman’s compensation claims,
and unhappy customers.
Course 6
This course focuses on training individuals who wish to become
DRIVING INSTRUCTORS. This 60-hour course includes 40 hours of theory
training and 20 hours of in-car teaching techniques. This course
prepares the individual to obtain a driving instructor’s license
for the State of California. Once they obtain their instructor’s
license, they are eligible to teach at any driving school anywhere
in the State of California. After 2,000 hours of teaching experience
will be eligible to open and operate their own driving school.
Course 7
This course is a CAR CONTROL CLINIC. It is designed to allow the
average driver to learn how to control their vehicle in emergency
driving situations. They learn to make emergency maneuvers, proper
braking techniques at high speeds, and how to control their vehicle
on slippery surfaces. It is open to families, small companies and
car clubs as well as the general public.
Course 8
This course offers guest speakers along with training aids for
use in seminars for companies, corporations, service clubs, women’s
clubs and lodges. It is a free service and includes films and handouts.
Subjects covered are: What to do in an emergency; driving laws,
defensive driving techniques; how to deal with a police officer;
Do’s and Don’ts at an accident scene, and a variety
of other subjects.
